PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights marching band paraded through town — horns blaring, drums pounding in unison — en route to the high school during annual homecoming festivities Friday, Sept. 21.

The band sounded sharp, in tune and dressed in its dark green and white Pendleton Heights colors, along with the brightly dressed flag battalion leading the way. There was a homecoming court, parade marshals, fire trucks, area teams and more taking part.

The projected rain stayed away, and the smiles were broad as residents lined the streets for the celebration.

The parade was one of several homecoming festivities that took place throughout the week.

The only downer of the night was the result on the gridiron, where Pendleton Heights fell to Mt. Vernon. For a game recap, turn to Page B1.
