MADISON COUNTY — While many people are gearing up for annual Thanksgiving feasts, area organizers hope a healthy portion of those people will plan to work up a good appetite by taking part in area Gobble Wobble walk/run events.
The Pendleton YMCA will conduct its sixth annual Gobble Wobble 5K at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22. The event begins and ends at the Pendleton YMCA, 520 Falls Park Drive, and goes through downtown Pendleton and historic Falls Park.
Proceeds from the event go to the YMCA to pay for operating expenses. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Awards are expected to be presented shortly after 9 a.m. Registration costs $30 in advance or $40 on event day.

In Lapel, starting at 9 a.m. the same day, people can take part in the 5K Gobble Wobble walk/run organized by the Lapel Food Pantry.
It starts at the pantry, 1321 Main St., Lapel, next to Shear Style.
Participants are encouraged to show up early to register.
Costs range from $10 to $22 depending on whether people want an event T-shirt.
Funds generated will benefit the pantry.
Canned goods donations are welcome on event day.
