Boys swim and dive team fifth at sectional

FISHERS — With many season-best times, the Pendleton Heights boys swimming and diving team ended its season by placing fifth in the sectional at Hamilton Southeastern High School Feb. 16.

The Arabians placed swimmers and a diver in the finals after preliminary races on Feb. 14.

Cameron Kordes, Pyry Kurunsaari, Trevor Cobb and Evan Fredericks had the best placement for the Arabians with a third-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The same four made up the 200 medley relay team, which placed fifth in the finals.

Brayden Jones, Cole Robison, Tanner Keesling and Robbie Courtney brought home another fifth in the 200 freestyle relay.

Fredericks also had an individual fourth-place finish in the 100 freestyle. Kurunsaari placed ninth in the event.

Adding to the tally, Fredericks had a seventh in the 100 backstroke. Cobb placed 10th.

Kordes recorded a fifth in the 100 butterfly, and teammate Cobb finished 11th. Kordes also finished seventh in the 200 freestyle. Courtney finished 12th.

In the one-meter diving, Cayden Sisson placed eighth.

Kurunsaari finished ninth in the 50 freestyle, while Jones finished 13th.

Keesling finished 12th in the 200 individual medley, and Tyler Hollendonner was 16th.

In the 500 freestyle, Courtney placed 12th, while Keesling finished 15th.

Oliver Claxon finished 13th in the 100 breaststroke.
