MARKLEVILLE — To celebrate the completion of road work during the past few years, including the most recent culvert projects at Home Avenue and at South State Street, Markleville will play host to a dedication ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

The ceremony, which will take place at the Home Avenue culvert, is to mark work on four culvert projects, as well as the paving of a third of the roads in the town.

“Over the last four years we have been focusing on getting a lot (of the road work) done, and we wanted to give a ‘thank you’ to everyone, all of the volunteers that made this happen,” said town council president Daniel Roseberry.

He said Markleville Police Department and Adams Markleville Fire Protection Territory will be involved in the event.

“I thought it was a good time to pull our resources together and say thank you,” Roseberry said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place, and complementary snacks and drinks will be available.
