PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society is planning a show celebrating the third dimension from Oct. 4 to 30 at Gallery 119.

“On & Off the Wall-3D Show” will feature entries that have significant depth beyond the traditional flat artwork.

The show will kick off on the art society’s First Friday event, scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday with hors d’oeuvres and a chance to meet the artists.

The public will be able to vote for their favorite artwork for the People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m.

The show is being sponsored by Nine Star.

Along with the show, there will be an exhibit of masks in classic, theatrical or Halloween styles to enjoy.

Winners for last month’s show, the 2019 South Madison Visual Art Show for Fall Creek, Stony Creek, Adams and Green townships, included George Harris, who won first place for his painting “The Trains Run On Time.”

Runnerup was Fran Auker for “Portrait of Terry”

There was a tie for People’s Choice: Mariella Axline for “Stronger Than Life” and Adam Kyle for ”Tornado Watch.”

Honorable mentions went to Don Saxon, “Table For Two;” Sherry Boram, “Baroque Master;” Dorinda Cassiday, “Miranda;” Katy Burke, “Pansies;” and Kyle Adam, “Scary TV.”

This exhibit has been made possible through the South Madison Community Foundation Arts Fund. This fund was established by the children of Robert E. and Vinetta A. Wills, in honor of their mother Vinetta Aiman Wills, and is hosted by the local Tri Kappa chapter.

Gallery 119 is located at 119 W. State St., downtown Pendleton. Regular business hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
