Ross sets record in PH opener

ANDERSON — A slow start ended in a record-setting night.

After trailing by 5 points at the end of the first quarter, Pendleton Heights outscored Anderson in each of the final three periods to defeat the Indians 66-59 in the season-opener for both teams Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Anderson.

Pendleton Heights senior Tristan Ross grabbed a school-record 27 rebounds and was the game-high scorer with 18 points. Ross had 11 offensive rebounds.

Jamison Dunham hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points. Davrick Black scored 15. Others entering the scoring column were Luke Candiano (7), Zion Cook (6), Kamden Earley (2) and Ethan Ross (2).

Dayveon Turner led Anderson scorers with 16 points.

The Arabians played Tuesday at Westfield, before returning to action against another Madison County foe.

The home portion of the Pendleton Heights season begins Friday. The Arabians will entertain 2-0 Lapel. The junior varsity game gets underway at 6 p.m., with the varsity contest to follow.
