In response to the latest falsehoods leveled against the Madison County Election Board, we simply say this: Practice what you preach.
The president of the commissioners had no contact with the Election Board until the day that her letter was printed in various newspapers on May 14, 2020. To us, actions speak louder than words.
The bipartisan Election Board does not have time for political games. After having the rug pulled out from under us at the last minute, we had to regroup and begin planning for this election in a completely different direction. The timeline of how the vote center plan came to be has been discussed ad nauseam at this point. The implication that we waited until the last minute to start working toward this transition is undeniably false. Any member of the County Council can confirm how long we had been planning for vote centers.
We know that voters can see the truth, so we are finished with this charade that we keep getting pulled into. We have an election to run — and we intend to keep our focus on it.
