KNIGHTSTOWN — The champion of the inaugural Hoosier Hardwood Basketball Association, a professional league featuring four teams from Indiana, is scheduled to be crowned later this month.
League co-founder and former Indiana University basketball great Kent Benson announced Tuesday, May 4, that the first round of the single-elimination tournament will take place Friday, May 21 at Hoosier Gym in Knightstown.
Top-seeded Pendleton Legends (15-1) will take on fourth-seeded Terre Haute SharpShooters (1-14) in the first of two semi-final games set for 4 p.m. The second game, at 7 p.m., will have second-seeded New Castle Nighthawks (9-7) against No. 3 Southern Indiana Timberjacks (6-9). Doors open one hour before tip-off for both contests.
The championship game is scheduled, also at Hoosier Gym, for 4 p.m. Sunday, May 23. Doors will open at 3 p.m.
The Pendleton Legends feature former Pendleton Heights and Butler University standout Kellen Dunham.
