PENDLETON — Marilyn Ellen Sands, 65, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away Oct. 17, 2021, at her home in Paris, Illinois.
She was born Nov. 5, 1955, in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Bruce and Ruth (Carmichael) Miller Jr.
Marilyn was a 1974 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. She retired from Indiana Department of Corrections, working as an administrative assistant in all of the Pendleton correctional facilities.
Marilyn loved to travel, camp, and enjoy the great outdoors, and was an avid animal-lover. She dedicated her life and was most proud of being a mother of three boys that she loved and adored above all else.
Watching those boys grow into men and follow their dreams was the joy of her life, and will forever be her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry K. Sands, and her parents, Bruce and Ruth Miller Jr.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Joshua A. Miller (Yuki) of San Diego, California, Joseph A. Miller of Anderson, and Steven R. McPherson (Emily) of Greenfield; her grandchildren, Khloe and Kaden Miller, and a granddaughter that is expected in December; and her canine

companion, Willy.
Services were at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson; visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Cremation followed.
