PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights girls softball team capped off a 5-0 week on Monday night.

The 11-1 win over Frankton pushed their win streak to eight games. After a 4-3 start to the year, the Arabians have moved their record to 11-3 and currently sit as the No. 7 ranked team in class 4A.

Along with the win against Frankton, the Arabians added wins over Hoosier Heritage Conference opponent Delta, Carmel, Avon and Cathedral.

They defeated Delta 17-4, Carmel 15-1, Avon 5-4, and Cathedral 10-2. Throughout the five games, the Arabians outscored their opponents 58-12.

The wins versus both Avon and Cathedral came during the weekend at the Carmel Invitational. After beating Cathedral earlier in the day, the Arabians outlasted No. 6 ranked Avon in the second game of the day.

Eliza Findlay earned the win in both games.

Against Cathedral, she threw a complete game, allowing eight hits and two unearned runs while striking out three. She entered in relief of Shelby Messer in the win against Avon, and threw the final five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits.

She threw two innings against Delta to bring her total over the five-game stretch to 14 innings, 18 hits, and just three earned runs.

During the same stretch of games, she was 3-for-4 at the plate. On the season, she is 9-3 on the mound with a 1.52 ERA and is hitting .667 at the plate.

Messer, who Findlay relieved in the win against Avon, ended the week allowing just four runs across 12 innings of work while striking out 15.

Katelin Goodwin led the Arabians offensively during the five-game stretch. Fueled by a six-RBI day in the win against Carmel, she finished the week with a team-high 10 RBI.

Bo Shelton went a combined 9-for-17 and added nine RBI.

Sydney Clark added eight hits and eight RBI, and Lillian Coffel was 9-for-16 at the plate with eight runs scored.

In the biggest win of the week against ranked Avon, Kelsey Day sparked the Pendleton Heights win with a pinch-hit single in the bottom of the sixth. A Kiah Hubble double brought her in for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run.

In Monday’s win versus Frankton, the Arabians used five-run innings in both the fourth and the seventh to pull away. Kelsey Day knocked in a team-high three runs on a double in the fourth, and Goodwin tied Shelton for the team lead in home runs with her fifth of the year.

The Arabians next game is set for 5:30 p.m. today, Thursday, April 27, at Noblesville.
