Bulldogs, Arabians golf finish top five at seperate invitationals

MADISON COUNTY — Both the Pendleton Heights and Lapel boys golf teams had good showings in separate invitationals on the weekend.

Lapel had two teams compete in the Eastbrook Invitational at Arbor Trace Golf Club in Marion, while Pendleton Heights competed in the Noblesville Bob Spacey Invitational.

At the Eastbrook Invitational, the Lapel black team took third place and the gold team finished seventh.

The black team was led by a personal best 81 from Tyler Lutz.

Grant Humerickhouse shot an 84, Kaden Suchocki shot an 87, and Clayton Baker rounded out the scoring with an 88. Lutz’s 81 earned him eight place individually.

Team gold added two more top 15 finishes for the Bulldogs.

Bryson Hall shot a personal-best 82 for 10th place, and Crawford Douglass shot a personal-best 83 for 11th place. Gavin Hutton added a 91, and Coen Adler finished with a 93.

Eastbrook took first place as a team with a score of 328. Following them were Oak Hill (329), Lapel black (340), Southwood (340), Frankton (346), Alexandria (347), Lapel gold (349), Centerville (359), Mississinewa (397) and Madison Grant (460).

At the Bob Spacey Invitational, Pendleton Heights shot a team score of 332 to tie for fourth place, and finish just one stroke off of a Top 3 placement.

Ryan Davis led the Arabians with an 81, Hayden Fox followed with an 82, Vance Jarvis shot an 83, and Cohen Gray and Sam Denny each added an 86.

Fishers was the other team to score 332.

Heritage Christian edged the two schools for a Top 3 placement with a score of 331.

Noblesville grabbed both first and second place with their team No. 2 shooting a 328 for first, and their team No. 1 shooting a 329 for second.

Rounding out the rest of the team scores were Noblesville team No. 3 (335), Tipton (335), Yorktown (338), Mt. Vernon (344), Greenfield-Central (345), Cathedral (345), Avon (357), Richmond (358), Noblesville team No. 4 (360), Noblesville team No. 5 (375), Hamilton Heights (383), New Castle (393) and Franklin (409).

Fishers’ Sam Keithley finished first individually with a 74, Tipton’s Maverick Conaway took second with a 75, and Heritage Christian’s Tate Labrune rounded out the Top 3 with a 79.
