NORTH WEBSTER

Shirley Jean Strock passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on August 2, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.Born March 28, 1942, in Anderson, IN, Shirley was a kind-hearted and spunky woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. She was known for her contagious smile and candid, outspoken nature. Her dedication and love for her family was unmatched. She poured her energy into nurturing them and creating a warm, loving home. One of Shirley’s greatest joys in life was sitting in her beloved “stitching chair,” enjoying the lake and listening for the occasional call of a loon. She loved hosting family gatherings and reunions at the lake, and enjoyed Scrabble, cribbage, and euchre with her family. Christmas dinner at Shirley’s house was eagerly anticipated by all. Her famous homemade beef and noodles became a tradition that brought everyone together around the table. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Shirley had many interests and hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid cross-stitcher, reader, and fan of Family Feud. Shirley had a giving heart and generously volunteered at the local Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. As a member of North Webster United Methodist Church, Shirley actively participated in women’s mission trips to Henderson Settlement, in Kentucky. Her faith shone brightly through her acts of kindness, selflessness, and service. Shirley is deeply missed by her loving children, Jim (Vicky) Strock and Sue (Joe) Weibler and grandchildren, Tim (Theresa), Sam, Bailey, and Jocie; great granddaughter, Lydia (and one on the way); and brother, Steve (Francie) Seybert. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Lenore Seybert, her sister Barb, and her beloved husband Dennis.
