PENDLETON — Pendleton Town Council started its final regular meeting of the year by honoring dozens of residents for their efforts and contributions to the community.
“With it being the end of the year, we have several Distinguished Service Awards we would like to give out,” Town Council President Marissa Skaggs said. “We are very proud of our citizen-leaders here in Pendleton.”
Assistant Planning Director Denise McKee and Community Development Coordinator Carey Craig presented awards for a variety of local projects, including the installation of flowerpots downtown, as well as Pendleton Porch Parties and the countywide tree planting project, both Madison County Bicentennial efforts.
The Distinguished Service Award “was given to those individuals and groups that helped enhance the beauty and quality of life/place and provided special events for the Town of Pendleton as we celebrated the Madison County Bicentennial this past year,” McKee said in a later email.
