Man arrested on for possession of child porn

PENDLETON — Indiana State Police arrested a man in Pendleton last week on a warrant for possession of child pornography.

According to an ISP news release, on Feb. 28, Troopers from the Pendleton Post worked with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department (New Jersey) to locate and arrest the man.

Officers received information that a suspect, Robert Flynn, 70, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, was currently residing at a residence in the 6000 block of Woodchuck Drive, Pendleton, the release states.

At about 9:45 p.m., Trooper Blake Stephenson and other members of the Pendleton District went to the address to serve the arrest warrant, according to ISP. When officers arrived at the residence, they knocked on the front door, a man noticed officers and ran out the rear of the residence.

Officers waiting behind the residence attempted to take the man into custody without incident, the release states, however, the man allegedly became physically resistant, so one of the troopers deployed a department issued Taser to gain control of the man and prevent further use of force.

The man was checked out by EMS and transported to St. Vincent Anderson Hospital. After being medically cleared, Stephenson transported the man to the Madison County Jail without further incident. No officers were injured during the altercation.

Flynn was preliminary charged with resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor; arrest warrant (possession of child pornography, held pending extradition and local charges).

Stephenson was assisted by Sgt. Nick Albrecht, Sgt. Ron Huff, and troopers Clayton Fox, Hanna McClure, Matt Redmon and Devin Walsh.
