PENDLETON — In its final non-conference matches of the regular season, the Pendleton Heights Arabians girls tennis team flexed its muscle as it prepared for the final stretch and the postseason.

Senior Sam Hammel blanked Brooke Creamer in the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0, leading the way as Pendleton Heights (10-6) shut out Elwood 5-0 Thursday.

Hammel is now 14-1 on the season.

Junior Bailey Davis knocked off Bri Lewellen 6-2, 6-4, and sophomore Gracie Criswell rolled past Hannah Flanagan 6-3, 6-1, to complete the singles sweep for the Arabians.

In doubles play, the Arabians made short work of the Panthers to complete the shutout. Gabby Kramer and Susie Kramer beat Ally Creamer and Lilli Vehikite 6-1, 6-2, while Brielle Boynton and Claire Goodwin knocked off Delaney Sims and Claudia Swinford in the No. 2 doubles match, 6-2, 6-2.

Pendleton Heights has two conference matches left, at home — against New Palestine today and at Yorktown Monday, before sectional play begins Wednesday. The Arabians will not know their opponent for the sectional until the draw is completed Monday.
