FISHERS–Juniors Milan Jones and Luke Upton teamed up to win the Hokum Karem cross country relay race and paced Pendleton Heights to a win in the boys’ team competition.

Each tandem alternates running a mile at a time, which includes leaping over bales of hay, during the six-mile race. Jones and Upton finished with a time of 29:54.20, almost a minute ahead of their nearest competition.

Caleb Martin and Sean Roan placed fourth while Caleb Harrington and Jayden Wenning came home in 10th for the Arabians, who edged the host Hamilton Southeastern Royals for the team title.

For the girls, seniors Christina Magers and Syd Parker teamed up to lead the Arabians with a fourth place finish as Pendleton Heights placed third in the team competition.

The team of Grace Baer and Kylah Stout placed 11th, followed by Megan Porter and Ashley Alderman in 12th.

The Arabian teams will host the Pendleton Heights Roundup Wednesday, August 23 at 6 p.m.
