RICHMOND–Helena Talbot came up empty Monday, despite getting open near the goal several times in the Pendleton Heights win over Lawrence North. When opportunity knocked again Thursday, Talbot answered.

Talbot scored the equalizer eight minutes into the second half to spark an Arabian comeback as Pendleton Heights knocked off Richmond 3-1.

Trailing 1-0, a bid by sophomore Anna Childers to tie the game was deflected by the goalkeeper for Richmond. But Talbot raced into the box and scored off the deflection to even the score.

The Arabians broke the tie moments later when, after being fouled in the box, senior Kate Cowger drilled home the penalty kick to give Pendleton Heights (4-0) the lead for good.

With just under 11 minutes remaining, Talbot had a hand in icing the game for the Arabians. She found a streaking junior Claire Fendel who found the back of the net for the final margin of victory.

The Arabians will be hosting the Pendleton Heights Invitational Saturday, opening their day with a 10 a.m. game against West Lafayette.
