Swim team defeats Oak Hill

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights girls swimming team began its season with a 130-56 win against Oak Hill on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Senior McKenna Jule and sophomore Emma Robison led the Arabians, as each won two individual events. Sophomore Maggie Miller and senior Jyeisha Mallory also had first-place finishes.

Jule took first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.95 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.49. Robison won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:23 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time 1:05. Miller won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11, and Mallory won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:17.

Jule, senior Mackenzie Kemper, Robison and sophomore Karly Riffey were the first of three first-place relay finishes when they won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:57. Senior Abbey DeFouw, senior Sarah Dudley, Robison and Jule went on to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:45. Dudley, DeFouw, Miller and Riffey won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:06.

The Arabians played host to New Palestine on Monday, Nov. 20 (after press time) and will travel to Muncie Central on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
