Lapel runners drop a dual meet to Hamilton Heights

LAPEL — Lapel track and field ran a dual meet against Hamilton Heights, Tuesday, May 1, and while the boys and girls teams lost, several Bulldog turned grabbed top spots.

On the boys side, Hamilton Heights won 76-54.

The Lapel 4×800 and 4×400 relay teams came in first with times of 8:51.0 and 3:43.6, respectively.

Toby Metzger won the 200 (24.3) and 400 (54.2) and came in second in the 100 (11.7).

Jesse Mccurdy captured top honors in the 3,200 (11:00.0).

Lapel picked up another first- and a third-place finish in the 1,600; Luke Combs’ time was 4:49.0, and Killian O’Connor finished in 5:20.0.

In the 400, Jakob Addington place second (55.7).

Malachi Qualls finished first in the 300 hurdles (46.0).

Combs won the 800 (2:10.05), and teammate Joseph Conrad came in second (2:15.6).

On the girls side, where Hamilton Heights won 99-23, Noelle Loller finished first in the 1,600 meter run (6:06.0); Ana Handwork placed third (6:43.0).

In the 3,200, Lauren Smith won with a time of 13:39.0.

In the 800, Paige Rich finished on top with a time of 02:49.3. She also finished second in the 400 with a time of 01:06.0 and second in the high jump with a leap of 4-4.

The Lapel 4×800 relay team came in second with a time of 11:04.0, while Zoe Freer finished third in the 200 with a time of 31.5.
