INDOT continues chip seal preservation in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation announced chip seal operations scheduled for the second half of July. Work is scheduled for various roadways in Madison and Hancock counties.

Several roadways will be closed for up to two weeks during the chip seal operation.

Roadways in Madison County to be chip sealed are as follows:

• State Road 38 between State Road 67 and State Road 109 Madison County, anticipated to begin this week

• U.S. 36 between State Road 67 and State Road 109, Madison County

Motorists are urged to seek an alternate routes during these closures. Once the chip seal has cured, crews will sweep the highway clear of loose stone, apply a fog seal surface coat and paint pavement markings.

Chip seal operations are expected to be completed by the end of July.
