PENDLETON — Pendleton Correctional Facility warden Dushan Zatecky announced the promotion of Jeremy Ruttan to correctional captain.

With 24 years of service, Ruttan was promoted through the custody ranks to his previous assignment as the K-bracket assistant shift supervisor supporting the shift supervisor in running the facility, managing staff, enforcing policy, and maintaining facility safety and security.

Throughout his career, Ruttan has taken supervisory training courses, was a proficient count desk officer, was trained as a certified treatment specialist, weapons certified and trained as a Quick Response team member, a press release stated.

“I have spent a long time working towards this promotion, and I look forward to the challenges ahead,” Ruttan said.

“Several qualified staff applied for the captain’s position,” Zatecky said. “Jeremy’s high level of experience as the assistant shift supervisor made him a choice candidate for the promotion and will allow a straightforward transition into his new position as the J-bracket shift supervisor.”
