INDIANAPOLIS — Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings recently was elected as Indiana’s representative on the National District Attorneys Association’s board by the Association of Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Inc. Board of Directors.

Cummings won the election during the board’s Sept. 21 meeting. His four-year term will start Jan. 1.

The NDAA board meets three times a year and is primarily tasked with shaping crime policy on a national level. NDAA members regularly meet with the Department of Justice and members of Congress to help pass laws aiding public safety.

The organization also works at the state government level and holds regular training opportunities for prosecutors and staff members.

Cummings said he hopes to encourage NDAA to have more of a presence at national legislative conferences.
