SOUTH MADISON COUNTY — General Truck Sales is expanding its operations to the northern Indianapolis area with the opening of a new full-service commercial truck dealership at I-69 and State Road 13 (exit 214).
The 71,000-square-foot facility will allow the company to improve service to new and existing customers in the Indianapolis metro area and Central Indiana, according to a press release.
The company also announced the dealership is estimated to attract 40 to 50 jobs after it opens in July.
The 19-acre dealership site will sell new Volvo and Hino trucks and all makes of used trucks. It will feature an indoor sales showroom.
It also will provide full-service lease and rental options for commercial customers and feature a service facility for all brands with 30 service bays, an indoor service write-up area, an expansive parts inventory, and many driver and employee amenities.
Collision Center services will continue to be available through its 18-bay body shop operation in Muncie.
This is the second expansion General Truck Sales has experienced in the past two years.
In 2017, it opened a 93,000-square-foot Volvo Truck, Mack Truck and Hino Truck dealership in Toledo, Ohio, to better serve customers in Ohio and Michigan, according to company information.
General Truck Sales is a full-service commercial truck dealership headquartered in Muncie since 1958 selling Volvo and Isuzu commercial trucks.
It employs about 145 people providing sales and service to Midwest customers.
The Muncie location will continue to serve as the corporate office for all operations in addition to providing service and support for customers.
