ANDERSON — Steve Wallace recently won Songwriter Achievement of The Year awarad at the 8th annual Josie Music Awards.

The event took pace at Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville,Tennessee .

The Josie Music Awards is an awards show for the independent music industry.

Wallace’s song “Anderson Speedway” was nominated last year but ended up in second place.

Wallace said the song “Heidi” was “the big winner” of the show, Wallace wrowte in an email to The Times-Post. It was written about a special friend, and the fact that it was nominated and won makes him “grateful and extremely honored at such a high accomplishment.”
