Clerk-treasurer update

A caucus to select a new clerk-treasurer for Pendleton is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at Pendleton Town Hall, 100 W. State St. Seven Republican precinct committeemen will be eligible to vote for a person to replace the late Virgil Mabrey, whose term expires at the end of December 2019. Those interested in the position must file the appropriate paperwork at least 72 hours prior to the caucus (or by 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15). The caucus is closed to the public, but candidates for the position will be allowed to attend and make a short speech.
