PENDLETON — With a 5-2 home win against Delta Sept. 13, the Pendleton Heights girls soccer team remained unbeaten in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.

“We’re right where we want to be,” Coach Mark Davy said. “We’re giving ourselves a chance at the end of the season for a conference championship.”

Monday’s match saw the Arabians go up 2-0 on goals from Emma Harvey and Charlie Cannady in the first half. Early in the second, the Eagles’ Addie Chester shot a long ball for a score.

“Tonight was a tough one. She’s (Chester) the real deal and can do whatever she wants,” Davy said. “With a player like that, you have to be physical and not back down.”

Chester scored both Delta goals.

Arabian Katie Coleman scored the final three goals of the night, including one in the waning seconds of the game.

“The last couple of games, we’ve been trying to find our finds and find our space to get her the ball, and tonight our movement was much better and found some chance,” Davy said. “She just needs a small window to find the shot.”

Kaitlyn Prickett had two assists for the Arabians.

The win put Coach Davy just two wins away from the 100 club.

At 6-2-1 for the season, the Arabians play host to Yorktown, Sept. 14 and travel to New Castle Sept. 16
